The last couple of days I have been wild camping a lot - far from the road - in fields, in forests, here are some impressions.

Watch out for the little visitors I had while cooking chai !

Today I arrived in the heart of Moscow - the Red Square.

I can not believe I have cycled over 10.000 kms from Madrid to Moscow.

Some more pictures from the ride from Staraya Russa to Veliky Novgorod. The cold and snow was still my travel companion and some nights I camped "wild" in some russian village, seemingly the people lived there only in summer so I camped right in the middle of the street, only after I wrapped myself up in the sleeping bag did I find out that I put up my tent directly below below one of only two streetlights in the whole village....  The  next morning a sibirian Husky dog visited me and watched over me while I cooked my breakfast and did my luggage. The village was a dead-end as the roads ended there - I had to push my way back through 30 cm high snowdrifts. Took me a while but at least I did not have to watch out for cars or trucks. Off I go to St Petersburg.

Arrived in Russia at last. Crossed the border at Koidula, customs & visa check straightforward - I don't understand a word but dutyfully fill in the migration card, hand it back, get it stamped, receive one half back to keep until leaving the country.
The customs officer did not even look at my bike, think he was pretty bored and to busy chatting to the nice girl next to him.
So I slowly wheel my bike into Russian territory, first impression, the roads are bad and there is lots of potholes, ice and snow so riding a straight line is hard.
Rode to Pechory to see the famous Monastery, just 10 minutes from the border.
